Food and drink firms took a key role in this year’s East Midlands Expo.

The event featured a regional producers’ market, arranged by East Midlands Fine Foods.

Stands were available free of charge to regional food producers. The market aimed to showcase the variety of products that are available on the doorstep, and how buying locally can help cut food miles.

Some of the producers that were present at the market at EXPO 2007 included :

• The Fudge Factory - home made fudge using natural ingredients (Market Deeping)
• Adkins Bakery - craft bakery producing a range of breads / rolls and cakes (Nottingham)
• Natural House Products Ltd. - organic plant derived products which work in harmony with you, your family and your home (Nottingham)
• Just Trade Ltd - fair trade jewellery, clothing, accessories & soft furnishings (Loughborough)
