Success Stories

The sustainable development success stories showcase examples of sustainable development good practice from across the East Midlands. 

 

Sustainable development cannot be achieved by any particular group in isolation. While policy documents provide a framework for activities that can deliver sustainability and contain indicators against which progress can be measured, ultimately it is their implementation and action on the ground that will bring about the changes required.

Many projects all across the East Midlands are contributing towards a more sustainable future. They are led and implemented by businesses, local authorities, voluntary organisations, government agencies, universities and schools. Information about them, however, is often difficult to find.

 

These web pages bring together information about various projects and activities in the region that are contributing to sustainability. By showcasing these examples of good practice we will:

All the success stories showcased on this site meet at least two of the five agreed regional priorities for sustainable development as set down below:
