The East Midlands Regional Waste Strategy was published in January 2006 and is available in pdf format from the Documents page.

Linked to the programme of Regional Plan Review Spring seminars, the Waste Strategy was formally launched on Tuesday 28 March 2006, at Loughborough University.

The strategy aims to provide a framework for change from the current wasteful practices of today to a more sustainable future for our Region. It seeks

• to influence the way we produce and consume goods
• to minimise the amount of waste we produce and
• to ensure we recover or recycle as much of the waste we do produce as possible.
