RSS Partial Review 2008-2011

On 17th October 2008 the East Midlands Regional Assembly launched a public consultation on proposals for a further Partial Review of the East Midlands Regional Plan, looking at key regional spatial planning issues through to 2031.

This directly follows the close of the Government’s consultation on final changes to the current version of the Regional Plan, developed through the Regional Spatial Strategy Review which commenced in 2006.

The key issues that are proposed to be considered by the Partial Review include:

  • Planning for the impact of projected population growth on the demand for new open market and affordable housing
  • Ensuring that transport infrastructure and services can meet the needs of a growing population in a sustainable manner
  • Dealing with the causes and effects of climate change by generating more power from renewable sources and managing the potential impacts of sea level rise on the Lincolnshire Coast

On 30 June 2009, an Options Consultation was launched.

There are a number of supporting documents covering transport, housing and coastal flooding issues, the latest Regional Plan Annual Monitoring Report and the results of public survey work undertaken on behalf of the Regional Assembly by Ipsos MORI.  Documents are available from the Key Documents and Supporting Documents links in the left hand menu of this website.
