Public transport

Charnwood Street is within reasonable walking distance of both the bus station and railway station.

Bus numbers 37, 40 and 53 stop in Charnwood Street and numbers 60, 61,68 and 69 stop in nearby Osmaston Road.

 

Car Parking

There are limited parking facilities at our premises in Charnwood Street. There are a small number of parking places for disabled people. Please note that these are available on a 'first come, first served' basis and can't be reserved.

Nearby parking is available at:

  • short stay car parks on Sacheverel Street and Wilmot Street;
  • Little City long stay car park at the junction of Green Lane and Burton Road; and
  • the free car park on Normanton Road (entrance on Grove Street).

There is also metered street parking available on Leopold Street and free on-street parking on Charnwood Street after 6.00pm.

Lincoln Drill Hall is situated right in the heart of the city, in the downhill area close to the pedestrian city centre. The building backs onto Broadgate, the main A15 route through Lincoln. If you remember the Drill Hall from pre 1999, please bear in mind that the building has effectively been ‘turned round’ since the refurbishment and the Broadgate entrance is now the back door! The new entrance is on Freeschool Lane next to the Central Library.

Government Office for the East Midlands is close to central Nottingham, on Talbot Street, just up from Rock City on the right hand side as you walk up from the Corner House or the Royal Centre (which can be reached by tram from the train station). It’s a five minute walk from Old Market Square bus stops.

There is a public pay car park directly under the building if travelling by car.
