The IRS Framework has been developed to achieve consistency and integration between its component strategies. It ensures that policies and strategies are not prepared in isolation but within the wider context of sustainable development.
The Regional Economic Strategy, Regional Spatial Strategy, Regional Environment Strategy and the family of social strategies - Investment for Health, Housing and The Place of Choice - the cultural strategy, are all examples of component strategies. They have been developed within the context provided by the IRS Framework and so together will help the region move towards its vision, objectives and priorities for a more sustainable future. The IRS Framework does not include the detailed proposals, policies action plans or targets contained within the individual component strategies.
The following table lists the component regional strategies of this IRS Framework. It provides information on the organisation that is leading the development of each strategy and the current stage it has reached at February 2008.
