An update to the Regional Transport Strategy was included within the Draft East Midlands Regional Plan which was issued for consultation on 28 September 2006. It includes policies relating to managing the need for travel and the rate of traffic growth, highway and rail improvements, freight movements, and air travel. It has been informed by the recent process to determine regional infrastructure priorities up to 2016.
