Summer in the City

 - Dealing with Extreme Weather in Urban Areas: Main Conference

Extreme weather including summer heat and storms cause significant impacts in the urban environment. Solutions to deal with these problems are changing, with a move from hard engineered solutions to a new ecoservice approach.

Changing the form of urban design has many implications in the development process and the new solutions need to be embedded in delivery and management of the urban realm. This conference seeks to illustrate some of the options for soft engineering of water and heat management, and illustrate the opportunities for new "green jobs".

Who Should Attend?

The conference is aimed at all professionals involved in urban development, including planners, highways managers, surveyors, urban designers and landscape architects.
